Setting goals is primordial in the cutthroat world of today. Establishing objectives can help us get closer to our dreams. One definition of a goal is anything that a person wants to accomplish. Planning and committing to a certain goal that will benefit one's life is part of one's vision. By establishing reasonable objectives and making progress every day, we can triumph over the obstacles and manage our procrastination.

We will have many experiences on this journey called life, and we must make proper use of these events to shape who we are and narrate the tales of life. As long as we write our goals in our journal and read them aloud each day, we can overcome our fear of the new chores and obstacles that will arise every day. It will assist us in becoming very distracted and concentrating on the outcome.

I.IGoals vs Vision:

Although the two terms, goals and vision, can seem interrelated, there is still a remarkable difference between the two. A vision turns a futuristic mental picture of yours into reality. For example, you want to get promoted, and measuring the daily achievements becomes your roadmap.

Vision is nothing but a perception of the world; goals are the steps that will help you accomplish that. Every time you accomplish it, your confidence empowers you, and the reality is closer.

I.II. Goals vs. Objectives: Objectives are targets that are realistic; they help us achieve the goal within a specified period of time.

II. Why you are not able to set clear goals:

1. Having unrealistic/vague goals: Use the SMART method when we are able to quantify goals. It is primordial to set specific, measurable, and time-bound targets.

2.Stop distractions: It is primordial to stop distractions and keep your phone away in silent when you are studying, which helps us to concentrate and put all the attention towards our tasks while studying and working .

3. Perform one task at a time: Performing one task at a time is crucial. You can commence working on other projects assigned to you only after completing the first one. By using techniques like the Pomodoro technique, we can unwind and bring clarity to our minds by allowing us to work for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute rest.

4. You are unable to give priority to tasks: It is quite evident that you are not able to give priority to tasks. You are not preparing an agenda and using the Eisenhower matrix, where you can segregate the tasks as per their urgency.

5. Not able to keep track of the progress; monitoring our progress requires us to recognize our own accomplishments, which can inspire us and increase our self-confidence. Many apps are now available that can assist us in reaching the milestone, such as STRIDES, Habitica, and Way of Life.

6. You are not giving your 100%; we must give our best and 100% for whatever we do.

7. You are not upskilling yourself: It is necessary to upskill ourselves frequently and learn skills required in our professional life. If we invest our time and money in upskilling ourselves, then it is quite possible that we won't lag behind and likely to reach our destination fast.

8. You are not embracing the change: We have to accept that change is inevitable and must embrace life as it to inculcate in yourself every experience with fervor and welcome the inner peace . When life calls for us to occasionally stray, indulge, explore, and experience new and exciting things, which eventually empowers us.

III. Practical steps to set goal

Now let us dive into some practical steps to achieve our goals

  1. It is important to reflect and dig deep down in order to find out your true passions, the inner drive, in the wheel of life; we must segregate the different aspects like career, health, finance, relationships, or personal development, etc.

  2. Break down your goals into SMART goals.

  3. Write down your goals. Words put more energy into the goals and make them more realistic.

  4. Create a realistic action plan and devote time for it and review after that also.

  5. Don't overstress and take breaks when necessary.

  6. Visualize that you are very close to your goals.

  7. Stay accountable.

IV. How to Overcome Obstacles While Achieving Goals:

The mind is everything. You become what you think. —The Buddha

    1. Reframe and shift your mindset:It has been noted that even if people succeed, they will inevitably succumb to negative self-talk and undermine their confidence by continuously questioning their skills, which will be harmful to our health. All human beings irrespective of their profession , can succumb to the trap of negative-talk.

We must examine and analyze the factors that triggers anxiety, confront it, and replace it with affirmations for more clarity and have a positive outlook in order to shift our thinking.

    2. Convert obstacles into opportunities: Every obstacle is not a roadblock, it is important to convert the obstacles into opportunities or the roadmap of our growth. This shift can change our mindset.

    3. Embrace Change: Accept change and avoid being a victim of the situation. Sometimes people are afraid of change, which prevents them from doing the necessary things and exerting the necessary energy. However, if we view change as a way to find our skills, then we can overcome this fear.

    4. The sun shines every day: We must believe that every day the sun shines bright, and it brightens our day, so we must not look at the past but take new energy from the sun.

V. Final Thoughts: Thus , it is essential to dive deeper into these strategies and adopt a positive mindset to say , "No" to negative self -talk and march ahead with the pace of nature.
